Birthday Festivities!

Candle in the eggos, it doesn't get much better than that for this birthday boy.

Carter could hardly handle his presents just sitting there, unopened. So we had to open them before Camden went to school. He was pretty excited! He was happy with his batman mask,(that actually fits) and his batman house!

We had play group at our house so we decided to do a little birthday party since most of his friends are in the group. It was perfect and the kids had a blast.

We played fun games that the kids are just getting old enough to understand and have fun with. It was fun to watch them!

That night we had cake and ice cream with Reed and Melinda's family. Carter wanted a Batman Cake and this is as good as I could do. I am not an artist. Good thing at 5 Carter thought it was pretty cool!

Brook was out of town for Carters birthday on a golf trip. It was sad not to have him with us for all of the days festivities. Carter was insistent on saving him a piece of cake. What a nice boy! I asked him at the end of the day as I was tucking him in bed if he had a good day he said "yes, it was such a good birthday. I am 5 now, it was a good day!"

5 years old

This week Carter turned 5. Holy crap time flies. So much has happened in the last 5 years but then again it wasn't that long ago I remember bringing this sweet little boy home.

From the mouth of Carter...
favorite color- blue, red and purple
favorite dinner- pancakes
favorite movie- Transformers 2
favorite TV show- cartoon Avengers
favorite game- temple run
favorite toy- power ranger dress up
favorite treat- licorice
best friend- Lincoln
What do you want to be when you grow up- Fireman
A few tidbits about Carter...
He doesn't like pants. When he gets home he always asks "are we going out again??" If I say no he promptly puts on basketball shorts. He likes to be comfortable.
Carter is growing out his hair. He wants it long like Justin Bieber or Austin from Austin and Ally on the Disney channel.
Carter has the biggest hands and feet. I think he is going to be tall. Now he is 45 1/2in. tall
Carter weighs 38lbs.
Carter is the most polite kid I have ever met. I never have to tell him to say thank you or please. He says it to me more than anyone. I love it!
Carter loves school, he loves his teacher and learning. He is getting so good and his numbers and letters. He actually has really good handwriting. Much better than his dads.
Anything super heros Carter loves it.
Carter is such a sweet boy to have at our house. He is chill and so easy to have around. We love him and so blessed to have him in our family.

Best Friends

Whenever we go to Utah we have to fit in spending some time with our besties who live there. And there isn't one time we see our besties that they don't ask us when we are moving back home. They haven't got used to the idea for the past 6 years of us living so far away. Some day guys, we will share a backyard and you will be begging us to move back to the WY! Camden and Addie are such good friends.

Weston and Crew!
2 days apart and my baby looks like he is huge compared to Weston. Especially from these pictures. They actually are very close in size. They weigh the same and Crew is like 1/2 inch taller. They have a different shape to their little bodies. We decided that Crew just has a longer torso so he looks 2 inches taller when they are sitting on the ground.

We love our friends!! I didn't get a picture of Colbie and Londyn running around the house. Those two are going to be trouble!

8 months

I can't believe my baby is 8 months old. He is growing so fast and developing quite a personality. He is still the best baby ever. He has been sick so much this season but has still been a darn good baby. He doesn't sleep very good but other than that and his horrible cough and runny nose you wouldn't even know he is sick.
Crew still looks exactly like his daddy.
Crew loves to sit up and watch his brother and sisters play.
He loves to play with his toys. Especially his tool bench.
Crew likes to eat baby food but not rice cereal. (I try to hide it in the food but he spits it right out)
Crew is a baby of few words, just like his dad. He hardly ever talks, coos or makes a peep, he observes.
Crew loves to be cuddled, rocked or held. I can cradle him like a baby anytime and he just stares up at me. I love it, especially with him being my baby baby!
Crew love love loves his blanket. He loves to put his face in his blanket and he can't sleep without it.
Crew is getting his bottom 2 teeth. He loves orajel.
Crew weighs about 22lb. He is a big boy but he has 0 fat rolls and is quite skinny. I think he must be heavy.

Crew has started doing the cutest thing. When he is looking at you he puts his head down low and looks up at you. It is the funniest thing ever. He knows we are laughing at him so it must be funny so he does it over and over and then he laughs at himself. I love it. I love watching this boy grow and figure stuff out!

This is him laughing at himself while we were all laughing. I think this kid is going to be a goofy one!

Camdens Message

This little message showed up on Camden's door today. She is in her room coloring on her desk and the whole family is outside the door. I am knocking on the door with some sweet spiky hair and Carter has Camden's birthday present. Crew is crawling behind us, Brook has an awesome hat on and Colbie has some long hair. I think Camden is trying to tell us we need to knock when she is working at her desk! I thought it was pretty cute and pretty clever. Silly girl. 6 almost 7 and she already thinks she needs privacy. We are in trouble!

Sisters

Crew is so lucky, he has two big sisters who think that he is the greatest thing ever(so does his mom). These two girls can make this boy smile and giggle better than anyone. He loves them so much. He loves playing peek-a-bo with them behind the chair and loves cuddling with them on the couch. Camden was digging her chin into Crews neck the other day and it was so cute. He was laughing so hard. It was so cute!!

Colbie and Crew spend a lot of time together. They are always home with me while the other kids have school and play group. They are little friends and I love that! On Sunday Colbie busted out with her hives again. They were so bad! She got them on her face again and then after the hives left he face was still super swollen and scary looking. That's why she looks a little weird, and this in this picture her face is actually looking tons better. Today is the first day that her face has looked normal. Poor kid. But her hives did leave yesterday so that's good. I just need to figure out what she is allergic to!

Crewbear

This baby is so happy! He is always smiling, sometimes at nothing at all. He is just happy. I love all of his happy goofy faces. It's impossible to pick just one picture.

I love his ears that poke out! Just like his daddies when he was little. So cute!!!

Crew just starting sitting up really good last week. He looks so big now when he is sitting there playing and watching his big brother and sisters. Its so fun to watch him hit these milestones but sad at the same time. What a big boy!!

Sledding

The other day before the weather turned bitter Brook took the kids out back and built them a sledding hill. They were in heaven. I was sick with strep throat but it was to cute to pass up a picture op. He had the track going all the way to the fence and told the kids whoever made it all the way and hit the fence got a dollar. The challenge was on...Camden kept tipping over, her balance sucked!

Colbie loved it but was way to light to make it all the way to the fence.

Cawas was the first to make it to the fence and was pretty excited for his dollar. Maybe sometime soon we will take our kids to a real hill to go sledding. It's hard to get motivated to go out in the cold weather. Plus I hate to take Crew out, he is still to little!

The kids had an awesome snowball fight! Camden killed it until Brook got involved then she had snow everywhere!

Good Bye 2012

We spent our New Years with great friends eating yummy food, playing awesome games and the end of the night watching the ball drop. It was so much fun! Carter is the only one of my kids that didn't make it to midnight! They did awesome! The year 2012 went by so fast.
5 highlights from 2012
- Brook, Camden, Carter and I went to Disneyland with great friends and had the best time!!!
-Crew Lyle joined our family in May.
-Camden graduated Kindergarten and started 1st grade, she is getting way to big!
-Carter turned 4 and loves preschool and his best friend Lincoln.
-Colbie turned 2 and has perfected the terror that goes with it. She also recently started using the big kid potty and thinks that is pretty cool!
Another year in the books, bring on 2013!!!!!

"Wii, would like to play"

So I know we are a few years behind everybody else but we finally got a Wii. Carter plays it non-stop when we go to Grandmas and his best friend Lincolns so I have been hesitant to buy one. I guess I didn't want to battle. So for Christmas we broke down and did it. Now the kids are in heaven and love playing their games. It isn't as bad as I thought it would be fighting with them to turn it off so I am happy to. Carter also asked for his favorite game Michael Jackson dancing and Camdens game request was Just Dance 4. So as you can imagine we have a lot of dancing going on at our house! At least its exercise! Even Brook and I get in on the action. He totally kicks my butt. I am not a dancer!

They have found a few other games that they like to play. Kirby Epic Yarn and now Brook got Netflix on the Wii so the kids love watching different shows on that. Holy Crap I am so sick of Power Rangers! Oh well, what else are they going to do in the -6 degree weather.

Visitors

A few days after Christmas my parents came up to visit us. We love having visitors and for a few days we all were somewhat healthy. Colbie helped Grandma make food in the kitchen. She loves her Grandma!

All of my kids with their Grandma and Grandpa!

 Dancing with Grandpa!

We played the Wii that the kids got for Christmas. Archery was a crowd pleaser!

Even Grandpa and Grandma got in on the action. They were pretty good but I still whipped everybody! We always love have G&G visit! Thanks for coming to see us, We love you!!

7 Months

On Christmas Day my baby turned 7 months old. I can't believe it. It makes me so so so sad! I hate that he is growing up so fast. Knowing he is my baby baby I am trying so hard to savor and enjoy the time I have with him. It is just going to darn fast. This little boy is the sweetest thing ever. He is starting to get super wiggly and wants to get down and play with his big brother and sisters. He is starting to roll over a little better. And he is working hard on sitting up. He still tips over now and then but he is making progress! This little man has been sick for the last few weeks with all of the crap that is going around so he hasn't been sleeping very good and really just wants to cuddle and be held. I do not mind that at all. I could hold this boy all day and night. Crew weighs about 18lbs 6oz, he is my big boy! He still looks just like his daddy! Oh how we love this boy!!

Christmas Day

The kids left Cookies, milk, and carrots for Santa and his reindeer. Camden even wrote Santa a note that said "Thank you Santa for the presents" with a picture of Santa. It was so cute!

Did he come... Yes he did and these kids were pretty excited about the mother load!

Colbie was pretty excited and took right off to check out her presents! It was pretty cute!!

Crew had his very first Christmas and he just sat there watching in awe of the craziness! He did have some help opening his presents but he loves his fun new toys!

Christmas Jammies

One of my kids favorite Christmas traditions are the Christmas Eve Jammies! They have been asking about it since we put up the tree! So as SOON as we got home from the Powells they were ready! And they all looked to cute in their brand new super soft jammies!

Then they were ready to get to bed so Santa could come! They were convinced that they were all good enough and would not be getting coal in their stockings! I wondered about that #3!!!

 The whole family!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve this year we spend with our friends, it was so fun! We ate great food and chatted while the kids played. Then we decorated sugar cookies for Santa of course. The kids had a blast and went a little sprinkle crazy. I am sure Santa loved them!
Then the kids acted out the Nativity. They did pretty good for our first play, the kids loved it!(next year we will have costumes) Lily so wanted to be the donkey it was cute, so Camden who was Mary rode her into the stable. Asher was Joseph and Crew was baby Jesus.

Bradoc was a Chicken waiting for them in the stable. Dylan and Bryn were Shepard and Teague was the wise men!

Colbie was the angel. All of  the kids did so good! It was fun to watch! I can't wait until next year!!  Thanks for hosting a fun party Dylan and Natalie!

Our family got the Flu a week before Christmas and Carter still wasn't up to par and didn't feel great so he slept it off on the couch. It was sad he missed the Nativity but he needed sleep.
poor kiddo! Maybe someday this season we won't be sick, holy crap!
