Tradition

Last week we had our Annual "Week with Lacey". We have such busy lives and live so far away from each other my best friend and I have to schedule time to spend together. It is always so fun to get together and let the kids play for the week. The first night we went down to Laceys Mom's house and had a fun BBQ!
These two goof balls are the best of friends! They just love each other. Colbie said the other day while we were back home that she wished our town had a "Jay"!

The kids spent lots of time driving the tractor!

We spent a lot of time in the back yard in the pool and slip n slide and tramp!

Water fights!

Enjoyed some snow cones! We have quite a group cause my niece and nephew came to play for the week and Lacey's older brothers kids came to play to. I just love how the 2nd generation "Helfins" are such good friends!!

Thursday the girls got to go to a "Princess Teaparty" they thought it was pretty awesome. They loved it cause the PG Royalty was there and they had tons of fun activities!  I didn't go but Lacey said that Colbie attached her self to the one of the queens and had a blast!
I went with Jay and took these handsome boys and Crew golfing! They had a BLAST!!

We hiked to the waterfall and played in the water! The kids loved it!

Carter and Hunter! They had fun playing with each other. They had a few little fights but for the most part they played good and had so much fun!!

Then we even enjoyed a fire and yummy smores. It doesn't get much better!

Lacey and I! I am so glad that Lacey and I are still the best of friends and get to do these fun things together. We did all of these things and so much more. I love how close our kids are and hope this tradition lasts for many, many more years! It better, Lace.

1 year old Photo Shoot

I always have these amazing ideas in my head and think that I can do them and for some reason it never turns out the way I had thought. That's how this photo shoot went. But it was still fun and I got a few good shots of this baby.

He kept walking away. He didn't think sitting and smiling was all that great!

What a handsome boy!

He started laughing when I put his bid cupcake in front of him. Like "Is this ALL for me???"

He had fun eating all of the frosting!

Backyard Fun

This has to my very most favorite picture of Carter. This is a look of sure joy and I can just hear the gut giggle that he was doing. I love it!! We always set up the little pool in the backyard and the kids have a blast running around playing in the water!
Water plus my kids equals happy kiddos!!

Smiles all around. Colbie looks so old to me in this picture!

My Crew baby is so happy to just pop around the backyard while the kids are back there. He eats rocks and walks way to close to the window well but he is one happy kid!!

1st pet

We are not really animal people in this house. Or at least Brook and I are not animal people. Therefore we have never had a pet. Not for my kids lack of asking more like begging for a puppy or something large like that so I thought we would maybe try a little small caged animal for our first pet. So we got a leopard gecko. It is suppose to be a good starter gecko. My kids love it! They named him JoJo. Camden held him a few times but he actually bit her the second time and so now he is just a pet that we watch. That seems to still entertain my kids plenty so we are happy! Lets just hope Camden doesn't get rabies or salmonella!

It really entertaining watching him hunt his crickets! He is my kind of perfect pet!

last day...

First day of 1st grade

Last day of 1st grade.
Camden has had such an awesome year this year. She has LOVED her teacher Mrs. Pierpoint! and she has learned so much!

Look how tan she is after summer...

and how white she is after winter! Ha, that's totally something she inherited from me!

Going diggin...

This little turkey is walking everywhere(which I love) and now he is into everything and anything. He is a busy boy! His favorite game is digging through the trash can. Pulling everything out and just making a mess. He even knows it is naughty cause when I am sitting there watching him he walks up to the garbage can and taps it and looks at me saying "nn, nn, nn." A few weeks ago we had grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner and there was an extra one that didn't get eaten so I threw it away. Well Crew found his way to the garbage can, of course, and started digging and then this is what I found!

That's a guilty little face!

Family Bike Rides

These bikes are a little bit more work but my kids still love our family bike rides. I got this sweet bike trailer from my friend that was moving and oh man we love it. It's perfect for our little family!  Thanks April. We go on bike rides any time the wind is less then 30 miles an hour.  I thought that pulling the trailer would be hard but it isn't bad at all. I love summer time!!

Start them Young

Crew had his first ride on the motorcycle earlier this month. He thought it was pretty cool. He is just like every boy and he loves motorcycles. He can hear them coming a mile away and he just stares and watches them for as long as he can see them. So he was pretty excited to watch the kids and dad ride the 50 around the open field next to our house.
We had the training wheels on so Carter was in heaven driving this around and around the field. Happy, happy, happy!!

Camden liked it also!

Even Colbie got in on the action. We start them young!

Citizenship Award

Camden's 1st grade teacher picked 5 students to receive the Citizenship Award and Camden was one of  them. We are so proud of her! She was pretty excited about it to. I am so happy Camden behaves at school and is such an awesome student!!

All about Crew

A few things to remember about this boy...
Crew has a few nicknames(of course that's how our family roles)
Crew-ton
Crewbear
Crewbert
Crew-pon
Crew weights 22lbs and is a pretty stocky kid for our family. I am thinking he will be our sporty kid.
Crew is another blonde baby. His hair is starting to come in a little thicker now and it is as blonde as ever. I love it! With his tan little skin he is one handsome little boy!!
Crew loves nothing more then being outside. If any door opens he literally bolts for it and if he doesn't make it oh how he cries. Sad boy! If he does make it he turns around and goes down the stairs backwards like a good boy!
Crew loves the water. Swimming, splashing and anything with water! He is happy!
Crew is ALWAYS happy. He cries very rarely. He has 0 stranger anxiety and will go to anyone. He is so smiley and nice!
Crew is a spitting image of his daddy. He looks just like him and he has the same personality. He is so chill, quiet  and happy. Crew doesn't hardly do any talking, giggling, or jabbering at all. He is the strong silent type. He does say "dada dada" for Brook but that is it.
Crew refuses at 1 years old to hold his own Sippy cup or bottle.  He will just watch it until I pick it up and feed it to him. Silly boy!!
On Crews birthday he just decided that it was time to try walking. He stands up and walks everywhere. Crawling he is still faster so that's his go to after he falls about 3 times but he is catching on. I hate to admit this but I secretly push him over(wink, wink) cause I don't want my baby, baby to grow up so stinking fast!
Crew loves his...
blanket
daddy
food
his binky.
This boy makes our family complete and we love him so much! I can't wait to see what the next year brings for this little man!!!

A year in Review

 May 2012
I have really dragged my feet on this blog post because I am in denial that my baby is 1. It's like if I don't blog it, it isn't real. But now I am way behind so about my baby.
