mastered

Since Carter learned how to ride his bike without training wheels that's all this kid wants to do. He loves it. He mastered stopping and starting so now there is no slowing this boy down. I don't know if he will make it all summer with this tiny bike he got on his 3rd birthday. We shall see. I am so proud of him!

Facelift

A two year old dragging around a cast for 5 weeks is a recipe for destruction. Colbie started crawling with this thing which totally trashed it and now she walks on it which is equally as rough. The edges were totally trashed and sharp, they were cutting her little toes so instead of re-casting our Dr. opted for a more "ghetto"(his words) approach. Duct Tape!!  Good thing now a days they make EVERY kind of duct tape you could ask for. So Colbie picked out her favorite. PINK!!!

So this is Colbies brand new beautiful cast! She loves it, even more then the first because it's pink of course!

She is a happy kid! She does walk on it now which totally makes my life easier. I can have her walk some places instead of carrying her and Crew. So nice! It is quite a site to watch this little girl walk with this thing. She walks on the toe of the cast so it makes a thump sound and she swings it around so it totally looks like she is walking with a peg leg. I call her Peg leg Pete. She didn't like this little nickname at first but she is warming to it now. Only a few more weeks and our 2 year old will be back to her normal indestructible self!!

Warmer Days...

We have finally had a few nice days were we can actually play outside and enjoy spring. We have cabin fever just like everybody else in town so this warm weather is very welcomed! Camden is such a good helper and loves pushing her baby brother in his car. What a good girl!

And this little man loves it! He LOVES being outside! It doesn't matter what he is doing but just being outside he is happy! He loves crawling around exploring, eating rocks and sidewalk chalk. By the end of the day he is extremely dirty, but that how spring and summer are suppose to be. He especially loves driving his car (with the help of his sister).

Poor Colbie. This sad little girl so badly wants to just get up and run around with the other kids. She just wants to learn how to ride her bike and jump on the tramp. But she is sidelined still and for another 3 weeks. She crawls a lot and is completely filthy by the end of the day but she just wants to be included in what everybody else is doing. Her knees and feet are so red and sore from crawling on the hard ground and her cast is completely trashed. But she is happy for the most part and rarely complains about her situation.  What a good girl!

Carter has finally mastered his bike without training wheels. He doesn't quite get starting(he needs my help) and stopping. But with only a handful of days good enough to practice he is doing pretty good. I need to get a picture but I am the one helping him so there isn't ever a good time. I think by the time summer gets here he will be zippin around fast enough. I am so proud of him!
I just love the spring and summer! I am so looking forward to park days and pool time! Bring it on!!!

Brothers

These two love each other so much!  They have a brotherly bond I hope lasts a life time! Crew loves to be around Carter and usually follows him around the house. He has plenty of moments where he bugs Carter and ruins whatever Carter has going but they also play together a lot. It's funny how boys are pre-programed to play with boy toys. Crew will pass up barbies and dolls to get to the motorcycles and super heros.

I just love these boys!

11 months

Messy face kid in the tub. His eyebrows look red in this picture but it is just the sweet potatoes he likes to rub all over his face while he is eating. Well today my baby is 11 months old. Only 1 more month and I have a 1 year old...ahhhh that scares me. This little boy is so much fun and this age I have decided is my very most favorite! He is always happy just to explore and if he does get cranky it's just because he is tired. This boy is so chill. He is always happy and so nice.

Crew learned how to clap about a week ago. It is so cute and he is so proud of himself.
Crew is also the best eater. He loves food. He eats anything and everything I give him. Maybe that's why he is so chubby! He weighs about 22lbs (according to my scale, which may not be accurate).

This picture doesn't show very well but for the past 2 weeks Crew has been cutting all 4 of his front top teeth. That makes 6 teeth.  It has been perfect timing with all of Colbies drama. No sleep for this house. Normally Crew is a very good sleeper. He wakes up about 9 or 9:30 and then goes down for his nap about 11ish. If I can keep my house somewhat quiet he will sleep for about 3-4 hours. Then he takes a 1-2 hour afternoon nap. Then he usually goes down about 9. I hope he will get back to that schedule soon.

This is how Crew fell asleep last night. He was being naughty and playing whenever I would lay him in his crib and I didn't want him to wake up Carter. So he was out watching TV with Brook and then he finally just crashed. Cute boy!
Crew loves...
his giraffe blanket
his brother
his sisters
his mommy(I am the only one who can lay him in his bed)
to be tickled
to be thrown around
his binkie
climb up to tables and pull everything off, often on his toes.
helping mom by unloading laundry baskets, unfolding clothes, cleaning all the food off the floor that the kids drop (yuck), tipping over garbage cans and oh so many more things I need help with!

This is my view of this baby most of the time! And that face, oh it looks very similar to Colbies natural face. That face means nap time! Oh but I could kiss it all day long. I love this boy!!

Purple Cast

Purple Cast. This little girl was pretty upset when the Dr. was all out of pink. She settled for purple and she likes it now. This picture is so sweet and is how you would think a little girl with a broken leg would be, resting on the couch...ha, not Colbie. I don't think this little girl has slowed down for a second. She is crawling around like a maniac and her knees are raw. She crawls up everything and jumps off of things. She has been going 100 miles per hour since all of this went down. I am happy about that.

She thought one picture was enough and then she goofing off again. Silly  girl!

A First...

The pictures on my phone suck, they are always blurry. Oh well but we had a first at our house this week. Our first broken bone! So Sad but on Sat night Colbie Cheese broke her leg. She was climbing up our kitchen stool and it tipped over on her and landed on her leg. It wasn't swollen (that night) or black and blue so I figured it was just sore but she wouldn't put any weight on her left leg at all. For the whole night and the entire next day, Sunday. It started swelling a little Sunday but not to much. So today I made her an appointment and sure enough, her leg is broken. Just above her ankle. Both bones, poor thing. She is a champ though. She just hangs out and scoots around or I carry her where she wants to go. She hardly whines or cries about the pain only if it gets bumped or she puts any weight on it at all. Tough little cookie.
Here we are at the Dr's getting her temporary cast put on. She doesn't look like a little lady who has a broken leg. She has been nothing but a gem since this drama happened. Which is not normal for her but maybe this bone snapping snapped her out of her crankiness! Cross our fingers. The only thing that this broken bone has really effected so far is that I carry her a lot of places which isn't bad since she only weights about 27lbs. And the last 2 nights have been rough sleeping. She turns a tiny bit and it hurts of course so she wakes up and cries. Lets hope that isn't the case for much longer.

Silly face! Here is her temp cast and she is pretty excited to get her pink permanent cast in 1 week. This cast has given her a false sense of security I think cause tonight I got home from a girls night about 11 and she was crawling about 100 miles per hour on the ground. If I thought for 1 moment this broken leg might slow this kid down I was sorely mistaken. We keep telling her to take it easy but that didn't work before so why would it work now. We will see how the next 6-8 weeks go for us!  Colbie is such a good girl and I am sad this happened to her. We sure love this little nugget!
